Need a Job? Be a Movie Extra
I was searching for part-time jobs yesterday because frankly, since I work at home I don’t get out and mingle with people anymore. I love the freedom of staying home but sometimes it gets lonely and quiet. I like being with people and wanted to find something that wasn’t stressful and I could make some extra money with. I came across this job and thought it sounded fun. Should I call? Do they have part-time jobs to be a movie extra in my area? Is it legitimate? What do you think.
Here are the job details:
This is an opportunity for Full and Part Time work. Make up to $250/day standing or sitting behind the main actors in films, commercials and TV shows. No experience required. Flexible Hours, Various Shifts, Entry Level. Casting Talent Network’s service provides the resources you need to create a portfolio and find information about casting calls in order to get started working as a movie extra!
The job description:
We are casting movie extras for such top TV shows as Prison Break, Lost, Army Wives, Monk, etc.
MOVIE EXTRAS (background players) are the actors in the background who make scenes look realistic and alive. There is a constant need to fill the background of movies, TV shows, TV commercials, music videos, sitcoms and reality shows. Movie Extras get paid up to $250 a day for filling these spaces, standing around, or moving around behind the actors.
Because most Extras are not required to speak, they absolutely don’t need any experience in the entertainment business. There are also no physical requirements – movie makers need individuals of all shapes and sizes to represent groups of real people.
